Excuses – we’ve all got them when it comes to making healthier food choices. Any of these ring true for you?
1. Because it’s a holiday
We applaud Joey for the creative repurposing of maternity pants as “Thanksgiving” pants. But if your planned binge involves specialized clothing, you may want to rethink your eating, even if it is a holiday.
2. Emotional eating
Yeah, we’ve all been there. But is ugly crying while stuffing your face really going to help things? Please, put down the spoon and step away from the ice cream.
3. I already blew it
Just because you pigged out doesn’t mean you should give up forever. You can always start again beginning at your next meal (P.S. If your overeating was triggered by a girls’ night in, maybe you need to encourage your friends to take up healthier habits.).
4. I hate veggies
So you don’t like veggies. That doesn’t mean you can justify eating everything else instead.
You could try this clever trick, though.
5. I’m already healthy
Oh, dear, dear Phoebe. We do love you in all your awkward glory.
And, speaking of awkward …
6. Someone brought donuts to the office
But it doesn’t mean you have to eat the whole box.
7. I don’t have time to eat healthy
We know, even cats find it hard to eat healthy when they’re tied to their desk all day. Planning ahead can help you stay on track.
8. My team won! My team lost!
Popcorn, hot dogs and nachos won’t ease the agony of defeat or increase the thrill of victory.
9. I want to get my money’s worth at the all-you-can-eat buffet
But is it worth needing to be rolled out of the restaurant?
10. I’ll start eating healthy tomorrow
